The SCRAPER is a fully automatic universal pipe surface preparation tool, designed to prepare pipes from 63mm diameter to 250mm diameter. It has been designed with reliability and ease of use in mind, and is tailored to the Major Contractor Market where repeated use is important. It has a quickly replaceable blade allowing the operator to easily maintain the correct scrape depth, ensuring a high quality joint.
The tool has been made from strong but lightweight Aluminium, protected by an anodized surface treatment to stop corrosion. The lead screw, bars and bearings are made from Stainless Steel, and the screws from plated steel. This gives the tool exceptional reliability when used in harsh conditions.
The cutter moves along the pipe by running in a lead screw. This forces the cut in to a helical pattern around the pipe ensuring a perfectly matched cut on all areas of the pipe. To speed up installation of the tool, a quick-release button allows the cutter carriage to disengage and slide quickly down the lead screw.
To hold the tool on the pipe, an arm slides in to the pipe bore and a handle tightens a cam to lock it to the pipe wall. Bearings on the internal arm and external bars allow the tool to freely rotate around the pipe. This allows the tool to work well on oval pipes.

To make the operation as easy and reliable as possible, the cutting blade will automatically load on to the pipe surface. An internal spring makes sure the correct pressure is always applied between the blade and pipe surface. No operator adjustable screws or load-cells ensures the perfect cut every time.
