The unit can record information about the weld, along with the date and time, and additional operator entered information.
It is possible to enter three pieces of information to identify the weld.
The first is the Operator’s Name, the second is the Location where the weld is being done, and the third is an Information field for more details.

The welding unit can be set so that only authorised operators can weld.
This is done through an operator badge system.
If this mode is enabled, when switched on the welding unit will require an operator welding badge bar code to be read. This will unlock the machine and set the operator name to that shown on the card.
The unit will stay unlocked until midnight when it will automatically lock. The unit can also be relocked from an option on the main menu.

The data log memory is downloaded by using an ‘industry standard’ USB flash memory device.
The data is encrypted for protection, to stop unauthorised alteration of the information.
A small download program is supplied that un-encrypts the data and transforms it into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. This then opens Excel and runs an XLA add-in that will format the data.
This software is supplied on the USB memory pen.

Ease of data retrieval and data manipulation is very important. The ability to integrate welding data into existing management systems is a must. To allow this, the unit downloads data to a standard USB memory pen, in a format compatible with many Windows programs. Simply download the data, plug the memory pen into your computer's USB socket, then load the information into Excel.

LCD DISPLAY

The ZK-6000  has a large character, four line, backlit display. This allows lots of information to be displayed at the same time, giving easy to follow instructions to the operator. The high-contrast display is easy to read in strong sunlight, and the back light shines in dark conditions.
