Product description

Professional hand scraper for preparing pipe surfaces before welding.

Description

The scraper is used to remove the oxidized polyethylene layer from the pipe surface.

This step is mandatory before proceeding with electrofusion welding.

The scraper has four blades. When one of them becomes dull, you can unscrew the blade from the handle, adjust it to the next sharp edge, and continue using the scraper!

Proper PE pipe surface scraping technique:

  • Only scrape the outer layer of the pipe in the area where the electrofusion fitting will be installed.
  • Remove the oxidized layer evenly across the entire welding surface.
  • Apply moderate, even pressure during scraping.
  • Make several movements with the scraper to achieve a clean, bright pipe surface.
  • WARNING: Do not scrape the entire surface around the pipe, only the area that will be inside the electrofusion coupler!
After proper scraping, the pipe surface should be uniformly bright with no signs of oxidation. Avoid touching the prepared surface with bare hands.
